Hickory Shockproof Case is built like a tool. Hickory is known for impact resistance. The wood back is bonded to a rugged polycarbonate frame and flexible TPU edges. Corner bumpers absorb shocks. The case meets military drop test standards. It has textured side grips and raised lips. Despite toughness, it doesn’t interfere with wireless charging. Great for tradespeople and hikers.
Hickory is the wood of choice for tool handles, axe handles, and baseball bats because it absorbs shock better than almost any other wood. This case leverages that property: the hickory back (2.2mm thick) acts as a natural shock absorber, dissipating impact energy before it reaches your phone. The back is bonded to a rigid polycarbonate frame that wraps around the sides, and then a flexible TPU bumper covers the polycarbonate. The corners have additional shock-absorbing bumps that protrude slightly. The result is a case that meets MIL-STD-810G drop testing (1.2 meters onto concrete). The side grips have a deep, aggressive texture – like the knurling on a hammer handle – that won’t slip even with sweaty or greasy hands. The buttons are large, textured, and easy to press with gloves. The screen lip is raised 1.1mm, camera lip 1.0mm. Despite the ruggedness, the case supports wireless charging (we recommend a 15W charger for best results). Hickory wood is pale to medium brown with prominent grain lines and occasional knots. The wood is finished with a matte polyurethane that is scratch-resistant and UV-stable. The case has two built-in lanyard attachment points (bottom corners). A removable wrist lanyard is included. The case weighs 39 grams, which is light for its level of protection. Perfect for carpenters, mechanics, hikers, or anyone who needs a phone case that can take a beating.
